Community Dinner
Sunday, March 7 at 1:00 pm
Location: McDougle School Cafeteria, 900 Fayetteville Road in Carrboro
The Community Dinner is an annual community-building event, crossing economic, racial, religious and ethnic barriers and presenting a wealth of wonderful, culturally diverse food and entertainment. It is not a fundraising event but rather an awareness-raising event, designed to bring people from all walks of life together for an afternoon of great food and entertainment.

Kol Haskalah is a volunteer sponsor of the Community Dinner, and there are many ways for you to help contribute to the success of this wonderful event (students will receive community service for volunteering):

Sat. Mar. 6 from 10 am - noon: Set up (wrap cutlery, fix flowers, put out placemats)
Sun. Mar. 7 from 10 am - 12: 30 pm: Various volunteer jobs (your help is especially needed here)
From 12:30 - 1:30 pm: Staff the Kol Haskalah information table
From 12:45 pm: Various volunteer jobs (especially carry trays of glasses of sweet tea or water to attendees)

Donations: A large number of the tickets for the dinner are distributed to people who otherwise could not afford to attend. You can feed a family of four with a $22 donation. Checks should be made out to the “Orange County Dept. of Human Rights and Relations”  with “Community Dinner” on the memo line, and sent to Nerys Levy at 161 Swansea Lane, Chapel Hill, NC 27516.

Attend: Come and have a great time! Click here for ticket information. For further information contact Carol Minton at 942-0990. If you are planning to volunteer, please let Carol know in advance.
